Paper and pen

Sewing Machine:

 Your machine must be in good working order. Bring the owner’s manual if you

are unsure how to use it.

 You need a darning foot, also known as a hopping foot or free motion foot.

 You also need a walking foot.

 If you have an extension table, bring it.

 If your machine requires you to oil it, please do so before class or take it in for

service. The machine should be clean and running well.

Thread:

 Bring at least two thread colors and matching bobbins for each. The thread

should be 50 weight cotton or polyester thread.

Needle:

 A new, sharp needle is important (universal is OK but use quilting, topstitch, or

microtex needles if recommended by your machine and/or thread manufacturer).

 The needle size (for 50 weight thread) should be 80/12. Size 75/11 or 90/14 will

work too.

Quilt Sandwiches:

 Three fat quarter-sized practice sandwiches: one solid, one print, and one pieced

(or one 1-yard-sized sandwich with areas of all three)

Optional:

 Quilting gloves

 Supreme Slider or generic Teflon sheet

 One unquilted quilt top to discuss in class

I will provide patience and a paper handout.
